Edinburgh in Gold and Blue

29th June 2014
The Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography is know as one of the hardest for acceptances on the FIAP circuit of salons, they only accept 202 prints, but regularly year after year they receive around 2500 print entries from around the world, an acceptance rate of less than 8%, most salons/exhibitions on the FIAP circuit have an acceptance rate of around 30%. Photographers are pleased to gain one acceptance at the Edinburgh exhibition.

Entering the 152nd Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography 2014 I was hoping for that one acceptance after submitting my eight prints a few weeks ago, astonishingly when results were e mailed I had to read it several times for it to sink in, I had 6 of my 8 prints accepted into this years exhibition along with the print “Storm Chasing” awarded a RPS Gold Medal. To top that great news I was also awarded the FIAP Blue Badge for the most accepted entries.
This is my first blue badge award and I can't think of a more prestigous salon to achieve it at, life is feeling good.

Below are the accepted prints in the 152nd Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography - 2014

RPS Gold Medal - Storm Chasing

Other accepted prints, Elgol Storm - Dropping a Stitch - The Catwalk - Standing room only at the theatre and From Russia with Love

Photo comment By Neil Scott: Great stuff Les. What puzzles me (and the rest of the team at Edinburgh) is the title Dropping a Stitch! Can you explain, please? I look forward to meeting you in Edinburgh on Saturday.
