Glorious Smethwick

07th December 2014
A couple of weeks back I received my results from the 40th Smethwick International Exhibition of Photography, Smethwick is one of the major UK exhibitions receiving over 10500 entries this year, covering both prints and digital.
After success at The London Salon and The Edinburgh International earlier this year it was time to enter the prestigious Smethwick. Entering both open sections (colour &mono) in digital and print gave me an entry of 16 images.

When the results were announced I was extremely pleased that 14 of 16 images being accepted;
In colour digital my accepted images were – Edwardian Steampunk, Fairy Pools Isle of Skye and Balance of Power
In mono digital my acceptance images were – The Catwalk, Hannah, The Bothy and Time waits for no man.
In colour prints my acceptances were – Elgol Storm, From Russia With Love and Standing room only at the theatre
Finally in mono prints my acceptances were – The Defender, Martina, Raphaelle and Storm Chasing

Very pleased all eight monochrome submitted were accepted, but it doesn’t finish there, I also collected four awards;
Time waits for no man collected a SPS Medal from Hunter Kennedy
The Bothy was Highly Commended
From Russia With Love was awarded a FIAP Ribbon
The Defender was awarded a UPI Ribbon

A great to end the to the year, well almost there are a couple yet to come but regardless I am extremely please how this years acceptances and awards have gone.
